A Case of Malignant Amelanotic Melanoma

Abstract
- A case of malignant amelanotic melanoma of the left foot is reported. A 36 year old woman had had a recurring mass on the medial side of her left foot for the last five years. Five years previously, a mass of 5 years' duration was removed from the same site. The mass was removed widely including the adjacent healthy skin and the defect was covered with split thickness skin graft. Microscopic examination proved a malignant amelanotic melanoma. The tumor recurred seven months following surgery. There was no evidence of metastasis, A B-K amputation was performed.
