Abstract

Since Dupuytren mentioned about precise pathology of Dupuytren's contracture for the first time in 1832. many investigators have reported it's incidence, etiology and treatment. The authors recently experienced one case of Dupuytren's contracture in a 31 year old male. A physical examination at the outpatient clinic of this hospital showed a 90 degree flexion contracture of the metacarpophalangeal joint and 35 degree of the proximal interphalangeal joint of the right little finger. Also we noted a 30 degree flexion contracture of the metacarpophalangeal joint of the right ring finger. We treated him with partial fasciectomy and the result was excellent showing a perfectly normal hand in appearance as well as in function. We are now presenting this case with a review of the literature.
