Fracture of the Neck of Femur in Children

Abstract

This paper represents 5 cases of fracture of the neck of femur in children, being treated at the Seoul Red Cross Hospital from 1964 to 1970. The fracture of femoral neck is rather rare in children in comparison with its adult counterpart. The solid union of fracture was attained in 4 cases within 10-16 weeks by the means of conservative treatment and the remainder in 16 weeks with closed reduction and internal fixation. For those 5 cases, the follow-up study was possible over one year in 2 cases and there was no evidence of avascular necrosis.
