Percutaneous drainage of abdominal abscess

Abstract

Percutaneous abdominal abscess drainage was performed in 24 patients under guidance of ultrasound or CT duringrecent two years. The sites of abscess were in intraperitoneum(N=9), liver(N=7), kidney(N=3) and etc. Successful drainage was obtained in 21 cases(88%). Two of three unsuccessful patients developed peritonitis and sepsis as acomplication. Percutaneous abscess drainage is and effective an safe method of tratment in patient with abdominal abscess.
