Pulmonary metastasis of primary hepatocellular carcinoma

Abstract

A roentgenological study was performed on 218 cases of primary hepatocellular carcinoma admitted to KyungpookNational University Hospital during the past 5 years from 1970 to 1974. Fifty-two cases were presented toillustrate various pulmonary metastatic manifestation so primary hepatocellular carcinoma. From our experience anda review of the literature, pulmonary metastasis has been found that on chest x-ray film as; 1) diffuse discretepulmonary nodule to mass lesion 2) diffuse interstitial granular infiltration 3) elevation of right hemidiaphragmor pleural effusion 4) hilar fullness 5) bony involvement. The fact that pulmonary metastasis might be the majorpresenting manifestation of primary hepatocellular caracinoma has been emphasized.
