Abstract

Dermoid cysts in the head and neck area account for 7% of all dermoid cysts, with their predominant sites being orbital, oral and nasal regions (80%). Dermoid cysts of the parotid gland are extremely rare and only seven cases have been reported. Due to the rarity of the parotid dermoid cyst and diversity of parotid swellings, correct preoperative diagnosis is difficult. Imaging studies such as computed tomography, ultrasonography and magnetic resonance were inconclusive. Fine needle aspiration biopsy may be helpful. In this article, we report a case of parotid dermoid cyst with literature reviews
