A Case of Amniotic Band Syndrome as a Cause of Anencephaly

Abstract

The amniotic and syndrome is a collection of fetal malformations associated with fibrous bands that appear to entangle or entrap various fetal parts in utero, leading to deformation, malformation, or disruption. The most commonly associated anomalies include amputations, constriction bands, syndactyly, craniofacial defects, club feet, and cleft lip. We had experienced a case of amniotic band syndrome accompanied with fetal anomaly. The fetus revealed anencephaly and cleft lip and palate. So we presented this case with a brief review of literature.
