Abstract
- Pseudoaneurysm caused by pancreatitis is a rare but potentially devastating complication that can lead to a massive bleeding. The management of pseudoaneurysms remains a challenging problem with high morbidity and mortality. Surgery and transcatheter embolization play complementary management roles. The advent of transcatheter embolization techniques has begun to allow minimally invasive treatment of this life-threatening complication. We present two cases of pseudoaneurysm secondary to pancreatitis, which were successfully managed by transcatheter embolization. We underline the importance and feasibility of transcatheter embolization as the first-line management in pseudoaneurysm as a complication of pancreatitis.
