A Case of Hepatocellular Adenoma Not Associated with Oral Contraceptive in Woman

Abstract

Hepatocellular adenomas are rare benign tumors which are found principally in women during the period of reproductive activity. There is a causal relation between the use of oral contraceptives and these tumors. Because of the risk of hemorrhage and malignant transformation, hepatocellular adenoma must be treated promptly. We experienced a 26-year-old woman with a huge hepatocellular adenoma not associated with oral contraceptive. The tumor did not respond to transarterial embolization, so it was resected surgically.
