A Case of Erythema Multiforme Like Eruption Associated with Hepatitis B Vaccination

Abstract

Erythema multiforme is an acute, self-limited syndrome with distinctive skin lesions. Hundreds of factors causing ery.thema multiforme are summarized to several categories;infections, drugs, vaccination, topical agents, collagen diseases, malignancy, physical factors, foods, etc. But only a limited number are well documented as possible causing agents, which are herpes simplex virus, mycoplasma and drugs. Nine cases of erythema multiforme associated with hepatitis B vaccination have been reported so far in the world. We describe 1-month-old baby with erythema multiforme like eruption occurring after second hepatitis B vaccination.
