Abstract

Pleural metastasis from malignancy is commonly combined with effusion. We report the ultra-sonographic and CT findings in a rare case of micro-pleural metastasis without effusion.A 34-year-old male patient with lung cancer underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), prior to open thoracotomy. VATS revealed multiple metastatic micronodules on the pleura, which were overlooked on the preoperative CT scan. The HRCT images and chest ultrasonograms showed clear evidence of pleural micro-nodules.
