A Case of Sponge Kidney

Abstract
- Cystic disease of the renal pyramids is a relatively rare clinical and pathological entity. The condition was first described by Lennarduzzi in 1939 and was first designated as sponge kidney' by Cacci and Ricci (l948). The diagnosis is often made by the radiologist, and because of the rarity of the lesion and the condition has been mistaken for renal tuberculosis in the past We report here a case of sponge kidney in which these feature have been studied in detail.
