A Case of Horseshoe Kidney Associated with Cryptorchism

Abstract

A case of horseshoe kidney was presented and it was accompanied with the left side cryptorchism. This case was discovered during the routine check of the cryptorchism. The patient has not companied any symptoms due to the horseshoe kidney, but, only due to the cryptorchism. The literatures were reviewed. According to the literatures, it was firstly described by Berengari da Carpi in 1522. Many writers has studied about this disease, but, no strict confirmation was made in the etiology, incidence and in the clinical significance until present, except the fact that secondary pathology developed more preferably than the normal kidney.
