A Case Report of Typical Carcinoid Bronchial Adenoma

Abstract

The bronchial carcinoids are confirmed by the demonstration of argentaffin and argyrophil staining. The malignant potential of the bronchial carcinoid generally has been accepted as extremely low. In a few reports, however, a much higher malignant behaviot has been described and a special designation, “atypical carcinoid" has been used by some to designate a group of more aggressive tumors. This is a case report of typical carcinoid bronchial adenoma in a 56 year old woman patient, which was diagnosed by the bronchoscopic biopsy. This tumor mass was located in the orifice of the right lower bronchus, and was resected by the right middle and lower lobectomy.
