Abstract

Semen volume, sperm count, morphology and motility for single semen for each 427 fertile men, between January 1980, and December 1989, were analyzed for circannual rhythmicity. A trend was found for high sperm count in winter season than in summer season. Although large variations were noticed both between years and within years and they were not significant in statistics, circannual pattern could be identified in sperm parameters, with the highest sperm count in March and the lowest in September with the highest volume in December and the lowest in September, with the highest motility in September and the lowest in January, and even morphology in all year around. There results must be considered not definite and confirmed furthur in detail.
