Statistical Observation on Patients(1963~1965)

Abstract

Statistical observation was made on out-patients and in-patients in the Department of Urology, Kyungpuk National University School of Medicine during the period from April to March 1965. I. Statistics on out-patients 1) The cases of total out-patient were 3437 and in-patient 249. The ratio of out-patients to in-patients was 13.8: 1 and in contrast to those of the preceding observation, the number of out-patient was markedly increased. 2) The ratio of male to female in total out-patients was 5.3 : 1 and female patients has been rather increased than those of male year by year. 3) Except for the miscellaneous groups of the cases, most frequent diseases were tuberculosis of genitourinary tract represented 4.6% of total case. II. Statistics on in-patients 1) The number of in-patient was equally increased in both sex year by year. The ratio of male to female was 4.5: 1. 2) The majority cases of genitourinary diseases were urolithiasis, tuberculosis, injury and tumor in order. 3) Of total case of urolithiasis, renal and ureteral stones were possessed great part of the diseasesrepresenting as 76.6%. III. Statistics on operations The cases of total operation were 190 during 3 years and it comprised 76.3% of total case of in-patient. The majority cases of the operations were nephrectomy, ureterolithotomy, urethroplasty and cystolithotomy in order.
